Legislator Fusco took office on January 1st, 2008. As a freshman member of the 9 member board finishing his first term, he has brought a fresh perspective without influence from the political machine.

As a husband of twenty three years and a father of six children, Tony understands the importance of family values. At the Immaculate Conception Church, Tony served as a cantor and choir member for several years prior to moving to Putnam County. He and his family are now parishioners at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac, and can be heard "Singing BIG" at Sunday Mass.

At a very young age, Tony developed a passion for community service. From chairing a local parade committee or leading a civic association, Tony has always been an integral part of his community and its quality of life. As a 13 year Rotarian, Tony has lived by the belief that “Service above Self” should be a common life practice. Tony was involved in the development of the Westchester "Gift of Life" program which began in the Eastchester Rotary where he was a board member for many years. "The Gift of Life" is a Rotary program which brings children from third world nations to our country, and provides them with life saving open-heart surgery. More recently, Tony has served on the board of directors of Community Cares, has been an involved Cub Scout father and volunteer. A participant in Mahopac and Carmel's Communities that Care, Tony takes a strong stand on DWI and protecting inexperienced drivers from catastrophic accidents. OPERATION: Take Away the Keys is a program that Tony is promoting to raise awareness of the three key factors in teenage vehicular fatalities...Inexperience, Speed and Substance Abuse.

In the roles of community volunteer, businessman and political activist, Tony has dedicated much of his life to the betterment of his community. As a former resident of Eastchester, New York, Tony was heavily involved in bringing to life their Annual Columbus Day Celebration. Together as a cohesive community we can build “A Better Putnam” for all of our families. Tony was an ardent member of the long range planning committee for the Eastchester school district, where Tony used his investigative skills to expand the grammar school building by pinpointing 20% more classrooms without additional construction costs. As six-term President of the Waverly Heights Civic Association, Tony spearheaded several community development projects that assisted in quality of life improvements for his neighborhood community.

For the past thirteen years, Tony has dedicated much of his time to growing his private business, A.S. Fusco & Associates, LLC. As a network consultant he ensures that his clients' computer systems are continuously able to communicate with one another and the outside world. Trusted with the security of virtually all of his clients, Tony prides himself in his integrity and loyalty. Over the past 12 years Tony has built his company from the ground up, and has expanded the scope of the services and products his company offers. Tony attributes much of his company's success to his ability to operate his business with a higher level of efficiency and fiscal conservatism.

As a financial analyst for the State of New York in the early 90's, he scrutinized the financial statements of large housing projects, the likes of Coop City in the Bronx. In the role of Fiscal Watchdog Tony has worked with both the Eastchester and Mahopac school districts to help cut waste. Mahopac School District was steadily increasing their budgets by 10% annually, as a result of Tony's efforts, we have now stabilized to less than half that rate. His efforts here in Mahopac now benefit the thousands that live in our community. Tony has worked tirelessly for the benefit of early childhood development as a champion for "Full Day Kindergarten". As of this edition, Mahopac School District is on target for implementing FDK in the 2011/12 school year. This type of real-life business experience and community concern is invaluable to our County Budgetary processes. Tony looks forward to continue tackling the challenge of taming the financial beast that is County Government. His successful entrepreneurship and life experiences serve as valuable assets for Putnam County.
