To the Good People of Putnam County:
I take the role of County Legislator, for which I am campaigning, very seriously. With your vote, I will be charged with the decisions and oversight of some very crucial issues involving the quality of life in Putnam County. If elected, I pledge to do everything within my power to achieve the following goals. Please sign the petition at the bottom if you agree with my platform:
- I will cut taxes by eliminating wasteful spending in our county government. If we can't afford it, we won't buy it.
- I will see to it that ALL immigrants in Putnam County are treated fairly and with dignity, and that illegal immigrants are either compelled to legalize and to pay into our various tax systems or are deported.
- I will ensure that any development will be in harmony with our environment while encouraging corporate suiters.
- I will inspire the use of wind energy and other sources of renewable energy by both the public and private sectors.
- I will lead the county's development toward a more economically diverse mix of land use by supporting the creation of more empowerment zones. And, I will work closely with our towns and village to locate and designate "Build Now-NY Sites" to encourage the migration of corporate enterprises.
- I will bring the Putnam County government to its people by providing more information, forms and communication over the Internet.
- I will ensure that our law enforcement officers and our firefighters are equipped with the proper tools to protect life and property.
- I will keep our children out of trouble by creating more opportunities for wholesome recreation, like swimming, biking, quadding and teen social centers. And, I will keep them out of harms way by supporting more stringent laws for sexual predators.
- I will encourage the people of Putnam and their hard-earned shopping dollars back to Putnam by welcoming well-designed shopping districts.
- I will create the position of County Schools Inspector to investigate wasteful spending and encourage whistle-blowers in our school districts. This will ensure all tax dollars go towards providing the highest quality education for our children.
- I will build choices for our graduating students to attend a college or university within our county.
- I will ensure that our major roadways , especially Route 6 and Route 22, are widened sufficiently to support the economic growth of the coming decades.
- I will explore the feasibility of a Scenic Parkway across Putnam County, connecting the Hudson River communities to the Taconic corridor and I-684.
- I will foster the creation of more Arts and Entertainment venues, as well as a Putnam County Center, complete with a sports arena and facilities to host large specialty shows.
